Volunteering
Can you spare some time?
Get involved and make a difference.
Without volunteers, we simply could not exist. We are always happy to hear from people who want to help. There are lots of ways you can be involved – come and join our friendly team of volunteers!
We have lots of volunteering opportunities ranging from one off events to regular weekly activities. You can volunteer as an individual or with a group of friends. If you are interested in a role, or would like to find out more, please fill in the form below and we will get in touch.

Volunteer in the Baby Bank
We always need volunteers at the Gyle to sort our donations and pack them up for the families who need them.
It is the ultimate in meaningful recycling and is such a positive role.
You will receive full training and support from our Baby Bank Development Workers, Sarah & Sharon. We hope to see you soon!
Ideally, our volunteers will commit to volunteering once weekly or fortnightly, for at least two months.
We are also looking for a volunteer to help us check and test donated electrical items on a regular basis. For the right person, we would put them through a PAT testing course.

Support with fundraising & communications

Support with fundraising & comms
Are you a whizz with fundraising, social media, digital, PR or other communications?
We’re always looking for support.

Become a trustee
Our board of trustees oversees the running of the charity. We’re often looking for community members with skills in management, communications, fundraising, finance, computing and more to join us.

Corporate volunteering
We welcome corporate volunteer teams of up to four individuals several times a month. Please get in touch if you are interested.
We often need extra help at the Baby Bank when we have a backlog of donations.
Alternatively, you could organise your own collection of preloved baby items at your workplace, bring them along to the Baby Bank and process yourselves as volunteers.
Qualified counsellor volunteers wanted
We are keen to attract qualified counsellors who have relevant experience to volunteer for our counselling service.
You would receive the same support as we provide for our placement counsellors.
We also periodically recruit more senior counsellors who are on a sessional basis.
Please contact us if you are interested in offering your services as a volunteer counsellor, at counselling@counsellingandcare

Benefits of being a volunteer
Training and support will be provided by the wider team, but the most important thing is that we work together to ensure that the charity fulfils its vision – that nobody is left alone to struggle with pregnancy, loss or early parenthood.
Learn new skills
You’ll learn new skills or build upon your existing skills and use them to benefit the greater community.
New social experiences
You’ll get the opportunity to practise and develop your social skills, as you’ll be meeting regularly with a group of people with common interests.
Meet new people
Volunteering at PCCS is a great way to meet some amazing people. People united by a common cause.
Help a great local cause
Volunteering can help you feel connected with everything that PCCS and all our partners are doing to make things better – because you’ll be part of the team that’s making it happen.
Increase your self-confidence
You’ll be doing good for others and the community, which provides a natural sense of accomplishment. Your role as a volunteer can also give you a sense of pride and identity.
Good for your health
Volunteering is linked to better physical, mental and emotional health. It keeps you in contact with other people. Feeling more socially connected can reduce stress, depression and isolation.
